In this modern nativity play, a very busy midwife who never misses an important birth is extremely excited when she hears that a king is about to be born in Bethlehem. She rushes out into the night in search of a shiny golden palace fit for a king.
The dress rehearsal took place this morning. A HUGE thanks to the older members of our local community who braved the weather to join Class 1 and the Pre-school children as the audience. For a dress rehearsal, it went extremely well.
The first performance for the parents (this afternoon) was a great success. The solo pianists started the show with a number of Christmas favourites. Thank you to Mr Tait for helping the children to be ready for this challenge. The story began. The narrators (Layla and Johnnie) confidently told the tale and there were super performances from the midwife (Imogen) and her sidekick, Steve the Donkey (Martha). The Star (Hannah) sang so sweetly and the only sheep to be well enough to perform almost stole the show with his very timely baas. The angels were angelic and the shepherds rocked.
Well done to all of the children for acting and singing so confidently and a special well done to Brooke for standing in at the last moment. The hard work put in by the staff was very evident: the lovely costumes, the super singing and confident acting.
You have all made me very proud.
