This week the staff and children were delighted to invite some of our older members of the local community into the school. This was part of the school’s response to Bishop Stephen’s Lent Challenge “to raise awareness of older generations and how we show love for one another.”
They were sent individual invites designed by the children to come in and enjoy performances of different dances by the children.
All of the children took part and the youngest ones were joined by some of the audience performing a jive -many doing the scissors, mashed potato and boogie woogie whilst remaining their seats. During the interval, the guests were given healthy refreshments – fruit kebabs prepared by the children. It was a lovely afternoon and the headteacher was delighted to receive so many thanks and positive comments.
